I think I took a wrong turn... (D2 after school)

There, framed in the doorway, is the forest.

... the sun seemed to be a lot further down than it should have been for how long she had been in the tower.

Layla couldn't hide the look of frustration on her face.

So there's nothing there? Nothing in here?

She patted her shoulders and reached behind her to make sure nothing was hanging off her, before stepping out of the tower and looking up at the much lower sun.

"How long was I in there...." she checked the time on her phone.

[Rahvin]

The time shows it's only been the few moments Layla thinks it's been... and then she blinks as the phone reconnects to satellites above and updates to show it's been nearly two hours that have passed.

Now outside the tower, it seems to be getting warmer. That sensation of being watched is still there but has faded significantly.

Two hours?! Oh crap, what time is curfew?!

Now Layla was worried. She couldn't shake the feeling of the tower though...something was weird about it.

Wait, maybe it's ghosts?

She tried a different approach. Last resorts, and it was true as well.

"Um...if there is anyone in the tower...could you point me in the right direction for the school? I'm new here" she asked in the direction of the tower.

Somewhere above the owl flaps from where it sat, seemingly waiting the entire time. It swoops down in front of the girl and then flaps off in a direction through the trees.

Layla took a half-step back when the owl suddenly swooped in front of her, then looked at where it went.

...could that be a sign?

After a few moments she shrugged, said "thank you" to the tower, and followed in the direction of the owl.

It's not very long before the sounds of the pitch where one of the house teams is practicing can be heard. From there, it's not very far to the main castle at all.

Huh. It was a sign!

Layla smiled to herself. She was right, there was something magical about that place! Or the owl. But mostly the place. She just needed to find it.

She stopped nearby, looking for the owl, hoping to catch a look at it before she moved on.

The owl has long since departed. Maybe it was luck or maybe it was something else.

There was a shrug, and Layla walked towards the sounds of the pitch, to find a path back to the school.

Hopefully without too many people asking questions.
