[D2 Late September Afternoon] A catalog of questions

by Grace Wilkinson
Grace has just managed to finish putting away the last stacks of "Charms for Begginers, Grades I through IV" that the 1st years left out after realizing that the books were woefully out of date. She had A Plan. A risky one, but one that was needed, for sure. She sighed, then started looking for the librarian.
Perhaps I should have brought some coffee to butter her up.

Cassandra sat her desk, looking over around the library as she drank some tea. She had already picked up a book to read while the rest of the students finished cleaning up their book selections, and this did give her some time before she had to finish the rest of her tasks.
It was ever the romantic flair, these No-Maj books. A ever dashing young man, a naive girl, fresh face to the world. He takes her on adventures, they get so close to one other. Steamy locales, a race against time, all of the tropes of a good romantic action adventure novel.
It was also, admittedly, utter trash. But it was trash she could enjoy.
As she heard the footsteps of someone approaching her table, she placed her book down and smiled at her warmly, her face slightly flush. "Do you need something, miss Wilkinson?"

"Hello Ms. Cassandra." Fitz offers a small smile to the librarian, half expecting a rebuke of some sort. "I was wondering if you could help me on a project. I am looking to cross reference any works by an author with any other collaborators he might have worked on. I...don't know if you can help, but I'll try to remember as many as I can."

"Why hello Ms. Cassandra, I hope you are doing well." She eyed the book in front of the librarian, but could not see the cover. Must be some kind of intriguing book on magical history.
"I was looking over to the indexes and the catalog, and I think it is not exactly complete..." She noticed an approaching Fitz, and wasn't sure how to react. This was a delicate topic!
"I wanted to offer my help in cataloging everything."

She looked on at the two paired requests. "Perfect timing, then, Miss Wilkinson." I mean, Grace had volunteered herself. "I'll take that offer. You can start by assisting Mister Crowinshield with his request."
Getting up for a moment, she goes underneath her desk and plops down a large index book of catalogs and nods. "I'll be sure you earn some House points for the effort."

"Thank you Ms. Cassandra." Fudge. She eyed the Thunderbird. Perfect. Timing. "I would wish to include ALL books." She eyed the Forbidden Section meaningfully.

Fitz eyes the Horned Serpent warily as the librarian offers one of the Horned Serpent's...in fact, one of the more acutely sharp ones. While Fitz rather doubted she'd beat him to the finish line of what precisely he was looking for, he would have preferred to hedge his bets.
Still, I was going to need help somewhere along the way...and making a Horny do the work for me warms my heart a bit.
"That's an extremely generous offer Ms. Cassandra. Are you sure that you can spare Grace?"
OOC: History check to be on the right track on who to look for?

"I bet you would, Miss Wilkinson, as I'm sure all of your House would as well. However, you know the rules, it's only for the teachers, the 7th years, and those with permission. I'll just have to do that section myself."
Turning her head over to Fitz, she gives a affirmative nod. "Oh, I'm sure. She'll be quite capable of helping you find what you seek." She gave a sidways glance over at her book before turning back to the two of you. "Just let me know if you need anything else."
((Yeah, History will work fine))

"Well, what if I do a really good job? I am sure you have a great many important tasks to do, rather than some mundane administrative task." She smiled sweetly at the librarian. "Perhaps I can prove my merit with handling the public part, and after that? Ms. Cassandra?"
She looked oh so eager.
OOC: Attract roll?

"Okay, let me see....let's try biographies." She starte moving to one section off the side. "See, this section is rarely used by most students, as they usually stick to thematic sections and fiction, unless they get a homework assignment about somebody." She raised an eyebrow, silently probing him about the purpose of his question.
"These are organized according to alphabetics of the people involved, and chronology under the same letter. Let's see...."

Fitz follows along silently, plucking the books off the shelves, and when complete starts to lay them out in a spiderweb pattern. Flipping the pages as he begins to search.
(OOC: Transfiguration or Potions to find clues about what he is looking for?)

((Yes. Average difficulty and Grace can assist if she wants.))

It's surprisingly not that hard to find what it is you are looking for...whatever it is you are looking for, really. It's all laid out there, actually, not put away. Like some student had just been here not long ago before you looking up the exact same thing.
Strange, for sure, but who are you to look a gift horse in the mouth?

Fitz compiles a whole slew of notes, though an expression of wonder and surprise comes over his face while he works.
"Thanks for the help. Do you have a list of the books that I took?" It's mostly a rhetoical question as Fitz is copying down volumes he took.
