[D3 Morningish post-breakfast] Cramberry Pie

Knowing that the mid-terms were coming up, Grace's heart was pounding, her mind was all over the place...so she was obviously in the library.

She put her notes down (primary sources on the great pukwudgie food fight of 1878-79, annotated by C.S. Jackelsbottomstop), but her mind was full....and as she did, a thought came to her.

She glanced around...and saw that everyone was busy.

Perhaps this was a good time!

She stood up, and started slowly putting away books that were left lying around on the desks, keeping an eye out on some books...specifically around transfiguration, and associated curses.

Some oddly specific books, indeed.

There are some unrestricted texts to find on those books that are easy to spot in their proper sections, and it would be nice to take a break from all that indexing you have been doing for the 3 weeks.

Time to do something you want to do. You deserve it.

Grace slowly, sneakily strafed towards the restricted section...trying to keep away from everyone else, at least.

You quietly make your way thru the way, while everyone was focused on whatever else they were doing. Passing, yet again, the clearly labeled warning sign written across the area, you successfully make your way into it...only to bump into a shelf on accident, toppling over a pile of books that was up on the edge, knocking them over.

At that, all eyes were on the Restricted Section, though thankfully none had seen you yet. A rosy-cheeked librarian quickly put her book down to make her way to investigate the area.

Grace almost cursed but managed to hold it back just in time.

Dman, the librarian is coming up.

She concentrated briefly, and let the disgusting feeling wash over her, as scales grew while her body narrowed.

Soon, there was only a snake there! A snake that tried to hide and slither away.

Grace tried to slither away, but it was not easy even as a snake...

As she was caught, Grace did as a snake would do.....looking at one of the books that fell open like she was reading it.

Totes natural.

"Now what do we have here?" She paused, staring at the snake on the ground with curiosity. "Are you the one who caused this mess?" She replied, getting cautiously closer to the beast. "Hmm...you don't seem like any pet snake I've seen in the Horned Serpent dorm."

She grabbed her wand and starts poking you to see if she can get a reaction, curious as to what you really are. "Maybe someone cast a spell on a cup again or something...hmm..."

Ruh-roh.

Doing whatever a sneak does was not working. She thought quickly, what would be the best option.

Do like a cat does.

She slithered closer to the librarian, and slithered around her leg, gently, slowly.

"Aww...you are a pet." He looks on her and begins to look at her. "Wingardium Leviosa." She waves her arm as you quickly rise to the floor. "Come on, then, out of the restricted section. You can stay with me until your master shows up. I swear, these students should keep a better eye on their pets..." She shrugs her head and walks back to her desk with you floating behind her, leaving yet again your intended goal.

"Maybe you belong to one of those Slytherin girls..."

FOILED AGAIN!

At least she wasn't expelled. Or tread upon. For now she settled on the desk, irritated. Still...it was better than being ridiculed and expelled.

She glanced at around at the desk, her mind running on multiple plans...and it all stopped when she noticed the cover of the book the librarian was reading.

She slithered closer, and started idly reading and resting her head on her hand.

Oh.

OH.

Oh my.

She was so engrossed, she only noticed when someone arrived by the awkward coughing. She glanced up and saw...wait, was that Hecate Graves? The Pukwudgie student was well known as a pureblood, an expert in many things...but not social interaction. Still, she was far from homely, and fairly friendly....

She was asking about some books on the healing properties of Glandslug glands...yuck!

She took the opportunity to quickly slither away and out! She did take some mental notes on poor Ms. Cassandra's dating life...of course, Grace would not suffer a similar fate. Never!

Also, she hoped no one recognized her as the local snake anytime soon.

With that, you manage to sneakily snake your way out of her grasp from her desk, fortunate enough to having that small shot of freedom against all odds.

With your second failed attempt at getting into the restricted section almost making you become someone's pet, not to mention, completely absent from your exams, you could only sit and wonder would the third time really be the charm?
