Veterans War Memorial Tower

Located a ways to the south of Ilvermorny proper is the Veterans War Memorial Tower. After the incidents in 1926 in New York, scrutiny of the North American wizarding community increased. Although there had been protections on the school grounds for years to keep no-majs from prying, it was believed that they were no longer sufficient. When talk of a veterans' memorial was placed before the no-maj government, a number of wizards and witches found their way into the team and quietly had the location atop Mount Greylock, a short way from the school, selected.

As part of the construction, a large magical apparatus was built into the tower to sustain a spell over the entirety of the Ilvermorny grounds, shrouding it permanently from the eyes of those not on the grounds themselves. The apparatus is maintained and watched over by a rotating group of wizards, who also serve to keep away more intrusive no-majs, operating from the nearby Bascom Lodge.

Officially, the tower is outside of the area students are allowed to be in but that hasn't stopped any number of adventurous individuals from making the trek.
