[D3 various] The Dating Game

Jay had tried to find Faith time ask her to the Spooktacular but she had been really busy he guessed. So he set out to find another date, there was a Wampus girl, Clair, who was a year ahead of him. She was pretty and popular but Jerric had only talked to her a few times. He figured the easiest way to bump into her would be to hang out in the common area so that's what he did.
When Clair walked in Jay hopped up suddenly but then visibly calmed himself down. Girls like confidence right, act confident. Casual. "Hey Clair what's up?" Jay said casually. Almost too casual bordering on flippant.
She jumped a little, startled by his sudden movement "Uh, hey.......Jay right?" She asked uncertainly "what's up?"
Jay smiled and walked toward her with what he thought was confidence and swagger "Let me Holla at ya for a bit, you heard about this dance yeah? I think itd be pretty lit if we went together. I think wed have a good time." He said with a smile and a shrug.
Clair tried, hard, not to roll her eyes. Instead she put on a polite smile and nodded "that...uh, that might be fun but let me thing on it yeah?"
Jerric shrugged again trying to appear casual "no big thing? Just hit me up." He said before walking back and flopping into the couch putting his feet up.
"Yeah that went pretty well I think....maybe..could've been worse at least." He thought to himself as Clair went up to her room.

The next day Jay employed the same tactic and waited again. Around the same time Clair came into the common room he stood up and said "hey Cla-" but Clair held up a hand
"Jay, please. I dont want to hurt your feelings but I have no interest in going to the dance with you. Goodnight." She said brusquely before moving up to her room.
Jay stood there for a couple seconds until he heard someone snicker at which point he rushed off to his own room.
