[Day 2, Early Semester, Thunderbird and Invited]

[Fitz Crowinshield]

Fitz wipes his forehead and pulls off his robe, and after a moment, pulls off his waistcoat.

"Alright, I guess we need to start on this."

Fitz looks for a relatively secluded bare patch of land to begin the work. It wasn't his idea, that being the other Thunderbirds in his year, but he had latched onto the idea of building a sweat lodge out in the forest.

"So, is it about the spot first, or getting a foundation? If we can put in a basement for the heating, I'll be happy"

''Location comes first'' Sylvain said, coming back from down the shore where he had selected the last large pebbles for the hut's center

He smiled as he handed a paper to Fitz



''There is little basement to be had, I am afraid''

[Fitz Crowinshield]

"Mind if I use this as a lab when no one else is around? I need a place with a large enough heat source, and this should work fine for that." Fitz looks over the front fire. "Maybe the one out front."

Fitz looks over the pebbles. "We need wood, right?"

The métis seemed to be in particuliar good humour since this endeavor started in its earnest

''I see no problem with that, friend... As long as you don't stink out the hut.''

With that Sylain put the stones on the ground and reached for his pack

''Yes, I think we can get most what we need by using the handaxe and the machete I brought''

[Fitz Crowinshield]

"Maybe I can Transfigure the stone to make a solid floor and foundation. Maybe it'll prevent flooding."

Fitz looks over the diagram. "I mean, we want it to last the winter and spring, right?"

[Sylvain Leloup]

''You underestimate the strenght of the structure and if we are clever, flooding might not be a problem come the spring.''

Sylvain hesitated for a second

''And I would like to use as little magic as possible. The sweat lodge brings its own magic to play, I would not want to have it altered''

[Fitz Crowinshield]

Fitz shrugs. "Fair enough. I guess I'm here for muscle then. What kind of spot are we looking for then? I don't know geology all that well..."

[Sylvain Leloup]

''You are more then mucles, you have a good brain in that head.''

Sylvain looked around

''We need a clearing big enough for the hut and the fireplace...although the hut can be covered by the trees. The only real restriction is that entrance must be to the west.''

[Fitz Crowinshield]

"Hmm lets see what we can find."

Fitz is not exactly the most woodsy of people, as his stumbling around the forest quickly shows. However, he isn't completely airheaded, and offers what little he knows of topography to chime in with the other members of the House.

(Add a Boost die to a group Survival roll)

I small shadow glided from tree to tree above them. Arlington had dragged behind a bit, inspecting s few of the older trees. He rejoined the group now, occassionally looking up to watch Bullwinkle playing in the trees.

Speaking about woodsy, Crow Girl wandered in, having found some berries and munching on them. "So?"

[Sylvain Leloup]

''Wonderful to see you both here as well.''

Sylvain nodded to the other thunderbirds as they came around to join the task.

''I know most of you already know this but i'll recap: We'll need to find large branches for the main support beams of the lodge. Then we'll either need weave a canopy or gather animal skins to cover it. Weaving might be...easier...in this forest.''

He raised a finger before they moved on

''And we should thank the trees from whom we take the wood the proper way...sorry for the inconveniences''

After hours of hard work the lodge began taking shape and it was gloriously humble and traditionnal

''Sweet job everyone!''

"So...should we break it in?" Fitz peers into the entrance of the lodge, pulling at his shirt to attempt to air it out.

[Sylvain Leloup]

Sylvain was standing still, admiring their handiwork with barely veiled trepidation

''Damn right we should!''

[Rahvin]

Overhead, an owl flaps. Odd, given the time of day, but not the strangest thing that's happened at this school by far.

[Arlington Wayne]

"We didn't build it to ignore it." Arlington nodded.

[Sylvain Leloup]

Sylvain turns to look at the owl for a moment. This might be a good omen.

''Hello bother owl''

[Arlington Wayne]

Arlington glanced around for Bullwinkle, knowing she was probably hiding.

[Rahvin]

The owl circles, apparently making note of you down below, then flaps off back over the woods.

He gave a whistle and soon the squirrel swooped down to his outstretched arm and scrambled into a pocket.

"I know I'm not Mr. Woodsy, but owls aren't supposed to be out in daylight, right? I'm gonna assume that someone in the school knows about this." Fitz frowns at the others observation. "But I dont think we actually broke any rules..."

[Sylvain Leloup]

Sylvain pondered

''It is not usual but it happens.'' he shrugged ''Maybe someone at the school or maybe he's one of the forest's spirit watchig us''

[Fitz Crowinshield]

"Well, we should probably make sure not to do anything here that we couldn't stand to get caught doing." Fitz ponders aloud, and looks around. "But come on, how is using a sauna against school rules?"
