Professor Higglebottom began his lessons as he always did, chugging from a small flask and basking in the sunlight that pierced thru the cold room. The time for class had already begun, yet he seemed eager to not begin. Sitting down on his stool, he looks over at the students, giving a wide grin to all of them.
"Potions are form of art, as you all know. Precision is needed in their creation. A slip up here, a shaky hand there, maybe thinking that it could use a extra touch of an ingredient? No. No, no, no. You'll get yourselves hurt. Blown up, maybe. It's never a good thing"
It did seem that he was speaking of the obvious, but he didn't seem to really notice or care about it. "So, let's open our books to page 24, and we'll begin with the lesson. Invigoration Draughts. Important for 5th years such as yourselves to know about." He holds out his flask and shakes it. "Great to give your body the second push it needs. Make it thru the day when you've had a rough night. Great stuff. However, when the effects end, you'll crash harder than a Swedish Short-Snout with a crate of whiskey." He gives a laugh and looks around.
"So that's what we're doing today, children. Invigoration Draughts. Grab a partner, step by the the cauldron and get started. I expect a acceptable brew from you before the bell's end, otherwise it's a D."
He plops himself back on the table, glancing over at everyone in the room, and looks on, staring at all of you. Waiting for you all to get yourselves sorted while petting his cat.

Rules of the thread
Attendance is mandatory.
Your objective is to make yourselves a Invigoration Draught before the end of the class. To do this, you must first pair up with a student. (If there are a odd number of students or unable to find a partner, a NPC will be provided for you). Each pair must make themselves a brew of acceptable quality. to fit the muster of Professor Higglebottom.
Firstly, you will make your own threads with your partner to acknowledge who has been taken. After which, you will decide who gets what role.
Quality Assurance:
First you must head to the cupboards and select the proper ingredients, ranging from the quality of the product. The Professor has put in several bad ones in there that will make a inferior product to test your ability to recognize them. One student must make a average perception check to recognize the good items from the bad items. If the student searching does not have a single rank in herbology or potions, add two setback die to this roll, as you're not exactly sure what a quality ingredient looks like.
On a failure, add a challenge dice to your rolls for the remainder of the event. Each Triumph roll will allow you to add a bonus die to each roll for the remainder of the event. Advantages and threats can be transferred over to the next roll as bonus or setback die at a 2:1 ratio.
Boil and Trouble
The student who did not go get the ingredients must then begin the concoction, following the instructions on the book precisely. Easier said than done, right?
Make a potions check at a hard difficulty to begin the prep for the brew. The assist maneuver may be done with your fellow classmate to help with this roll. On a success, you manage to create two potions of Invigoration Draught of acceptable quality and gain an A for the class day. A triumph counts as two success for the purposes of this event, as well as establishes a fine quality product, netting you 10 House Points per Triumph gained and a E for the day. A Despair counts as two failures and causes you to lose 10 House Point for messing up along the way.
Each successful brew also nets each participant one potion of Invigoration Draught.
A failure nets you no acceptable potion and a P for the class day. A failure with a Despair rolled will cause a small explosion from the pot, ruining your clothes and causing your hair to be singed. Needless to say, you not only receive a D for the class day, but also suffer from embarrassment from the experience. Roll 2 setback die for any popularity rolls for the remainder of the first session.
