''I...am not sure. I remember plans to explore it buuuuut...'' he frowns ''I am not sure what happened to that''

[Layla Smith]

Layla took some time to enjoy a bit more salad, and decide if she should say something, before deciding it was ok.

"There's nothing in the tower. At least, nothing easily visible or hidden magically. I've been in it."

[Sylvain Leloup]

Sylvain seemed surprised

''Spirits are not easily seen...but did you see anything else? I am very curious about what you experienced there.''

[Layla Smith]

"It has a feeling of...I guess fear? Freezing cold too, like Arctic circle freezing. Inside though is nothing...just an old room left abandoned. There is another floor, but the ladder is gone. Maybe if I could find a ladder I could see the next room up. It feels like there is something there. Or someone" Layla frowned "but I don't think it's bad. There is absolutely something there though, I can feel it. While I'm there i can feel someone watching me."

Sylvain's expression grew ice cold as she talked but returned to normal soon enough

''Research is warranted, I guess...it could be a lot of things though. I pray to the spirits there is no hide-behind there though.''

[Layla Smith]

"Searching for history on the tower would be a start" Layla nodded "it seems completely weird that it's over there connected to like...nothing. It's also super super old, like Hogwarts old. I'm not sure how stable it is, so it might not be safe to climb up."

She paused, thinking, before adding "perhaps a spell that allows us to fly or float up would mean we don't need a ladder, or one that makes a staircase..."

"Or we climb?"
He ventured

[Layla Smith]

"I don't know how to climb, and the tower looks like it might collapse under too much pressure" Layla shook her head "I don't even know if the floor above could take a persons weight. Last thing I would want is for you to climb up, then fall through the decaying roof and break something."

Or worse, land on me.

"At least floating would allow us to look without touching the ground."

[Sylvain Leloup]

"Hehhh" he was not quite sure about 'floating'

"We'll see"

[Layla Smith]

"Just...let me know if you go there. I wouldn't want you to go there because of this and end up in trouble. Plus it would save you just doing what I've done so far, and wasting time."

Layla looked down at her bowl of salad thoughtfully, moving some of it around.

"First, we need some more information on the tower..."

"Information is half the battle"

[Layla Smith]

You don't look nor sound like the researching type. Let's found out...

"Exactly. How are you with libraries and studying?" Layla took a chance to finish off her bowl, mentally telling herself not to get any more.

[Sylvain Leloup]

''I work better in a group?'' he replied ''I am not bad...but I am not the best either''

[Layla Smith]

"I'll likely go into the library tomorrow. Feel free to join me if you want" Layla offered with a smile.

[Sylvain Leloup]

''Ah...the library...''

Sylvain fought a sigh

''I might drop in...don't expect me to be too useful''

[Layla Smith]

"What did you think I meant when I said research?" Layla shook her head and sighed "do you have a better idea?"

[Sylvain Leloup]

''Mmh...I could check the maps in the thunderbird common room and see if anyone ventured to the tower'' he scratched his chin

''Make a collage of their experiences and see if any pattern reveal themselves''

[Layla Smith]

"Maps? As in old maps of the school?" Layla looked curious "can I see them?"

[Sylvain Leloup]

''The Thunderbird common room is a map room essentially'' he specified ''I think you could be invited in, yes''

[Layla Smith]

I wonder if Serpent rooms have something like that. I remember a lot of maps...

"I haven't been told a lot of what's in the dorm rooms. Perhaps there's something in the Serpent room as well" Layla looked thoughtful "I'd like to see what's in this map room though, so please let me know if I can be invited in."

[Sylvain Leloup]

''I can invite you there if you want. That's no biggie''

[Layla Smith]

"Cool, let me know when!" Layla smiled brightly at that "you know, I didn't really plan to find some kind of fun mystery within my first few days of school, but seems I have. I hope it's something really cool at the end, like a famous historical find long forgotten. That would be great."

[Sylvain Leloup]

''Yeah, there is always fun stuff to find and explore. That's why the thunderbirds have there own Rescue party''

[Layla Smith]

"I'm sorry...rescue party? Who do you rescue?" Layla looked confused "is it a common thing for people to need rescuing?"

[Sylvain Leloup]

''Well we thunderbirds are an exploring lot so it is not uncommon to have a number of students who gets lost. We made an event of finding them and bringing them back to the school.''

Sylvain explained as he finished his plate
