''Kinda'' he reached into his bag and took out several notes

''Thunderbirds *did* go explore the tower and this is a copy of their notes...'' he pointed to the interesting part ''...and someone left a coded message.''

"A coded message?" Layla looked curious "let's go find a table and go through what you've got. Maybe we can work out what it's saying."

Layla motioned onwards, before leading towards a table.

"So, what have we got here."

Soon as he was sitting, he but the coded message into view

Hmm, let's see here...I think I've seen something like this before."

Layla studied the notes that came with the cipher, writing as she did so, translating the code.

You recognize the method used in this to be a most likely twist of the Vigenere diplomat cipher method, created in the 16th century by a French diplomat with the same name. It can be pretty complicated to solve to the average layman without the passphrase. Once you figured that out, you could use the amount of letters and the word or words itself to solve the word.

As for what that Passphrase is, well, that is the question, isn't it?

"Oh wow, it's a Vigenere cipher! I haven't seen anyone use this...ever. That's cool, but why is someone using a French cipher? Oh right, French Canadians" Layla looked happy to have worked it out.

"Now um...comes the tricky part. Need a passphrase or this is basically nearly impossible to solve. Were there any odd looking words or phrases on the wall? Or left anywhere? Hmm...maybe there's a book on Vigenere in the library..."

''The massage was pointing to the tower'' Sylvain was very interested but could not think of anything ''Maybe the original tower name?''

[Layla Smith]

"Hmm, maybe. What was the original tower name? Do you know?" Layla went over all the notes to see if there was anything in the notes that might help.

Nothing in the notes indicate a former name or use of the tower, at least from what you can tell.

''I don't know'' he said honestly, then a flash

''Maybe they left something in our attic''

[Layla Smith]

Layla sighed.

"Don't suppose you know how old the note with the cipher is?" she stood up as they were talking, collecting the notes

''Not really, no.'' he made a griamce

''I'll look in our attic to find something. Thunderbirds store some of their findings there''

"Good idea. If we could get an idea of how old the note is from, or maybe even who it might be that wrote it..Hmm. Come with me."

Layla moved to find the librarian again.

Eyebrows were raised but he did follow her

He firmly pulled her body against his and he brushed her lips with his. Staring into her eyes, he lightly slid his tongue across her bottom lip. She drew a deep, staggered breath in response to the wave of heat she felt flushing through her. Derrick smiled at her. Then, he softly kissed her. He lightly swept his tongue between her lips, pressing his warm, soft lips to hers. He slid his hands up her body and cradled her face with his hands. Then, he passionately kissed her, tickling her tongue with his. He sucked her lips, gently, as though he was sampling nectar on a delicate petal. Then, with an intense urgency, he dipped his tongue past her lips, caressing her tongue with his. She felt fluttering inside. Anne’s body craved him. A shallow hum escaped from within her in response to how he was making her feel. She could feel his body responding to her. He was breathing heavier which was waking Anne’s primal needs. The tidal wave of lust that had just churned within her was slowly calming as his kiss became more subtle and tender. He gently pressed his lips against hers. He pulled back a little and--”

Cassandra quickly slammed the book on the table as the two approached, her face once again flushed as she quickly composed herself once more.

She really needed to get out more.

"Hmm? Yes. Did you find what you were looking for, Miss Smith?"

If only I wasn't on something important!

"Hi....um, are there any books on ciphers? Specifically Vigenere? Oh and um...some of the books in the history section are a bit loose" she rubbed the top of her head.

[Flession]

"Uhh, Ciphers? I'm sure there is." She nodded her head and got up. "Oh, you poor dear." She moved in a pace from her desk to examine her head. ."Probably with the No-Maj section, if you look around. We don't deal with them too often, especially since there are other good means of delivering secret messages with magic. Strange means for them to do things, but then again, I suppose one does what they can with what they have."

Touching the head. "Just a knot on the head. Some small swelling, but you should be fine." She pulls out her wand and touches the wound with the tip of it. "Lenio"

With that, the pain begins to vanish.

"Thank you" Layla kept still as the spell was cast "uh...to avoid any more book related accidents, I don't suppose you would know where in the No-Maj section?"

She motions to the left. "Probably with the logic puzzles, I believe. We don't get too much demand for them, so I can't imagine they would be hard to find. Can't say if we have a book about that specifically, but if we do, it would be there."

[Layla Smith]

"Thank you" Layla smiled "you've been an amazing help. I'll try not to interrupt your reading anymore!"

She nodded to Sylv and went to the section mentioned, going to look for the book (hopefully with help from Sylvain.)

A slip of paper falls out of the book as you are searching thru it on the game of the description of the cipher. Upon closer inspection, the note itself is composed a mad scribbling on a small note:

"Oh hey something fell out" Layla managed to keep her voice down, but she was excited. It was exactly like the movies!

She picked up the note, read it, and frowned.

"Hmm...this feels more and more like a conspiracy. Who is M.M? That could be so many students over the last hundred years. Anything scribbled into the book?"

Sylvain looked down at the note when it was presented

''Could 'Light of the Watch tower' be the code?'' he ventured

"Let me check" Layla took the note and the book, sitting down and spending a solid 15 minutes going between the book and the new phrase before shaking her head.

"Not unless that" she motioned to the paper now saying Bqchqb ial Hwckfpwtjr Uoiky "is another code, which I doubt. Light of the Watch Tower....I wonder if the 13th tower was a watchtower? It's certainly quite tall."
