"We may as well try that." She inhaled him correspondingly, her eyes on his as if they were the horizon, letting herself be carried by the moment like one would while lying in calm water. "I'll think later what it means. We'll need to talk a lot, you know? For now..."

She rose on the balls of her feet just enough to reach his nose with hers, and gently rubbed both sides of it. "...an Inuit kiss."

"No, no, of course. Talking is good..." his train of thought stopped by her gesture if affection. His eyes rapidlh blinking, the smile quite boyish. "It's really good..." his chest rising and falling with deep calming breaths.

"I liked that."

"Did you?" She asked with a slight tease to her quiet voice, the tip of her nose still rubbing gently at his as she tried to dance with heels off the ground. "So how do they do that way south from where I am from? I just might like it too." The fingers of her free hand combed gently into the hair at the back of his scalp.

"Kind of? Some greet each other with a kiss on both cheeks. Well, more each a side kiss by each ear as cheeks are touched, and repeated on the other. It's... hard to explain..." he spoke softly, and then proceeded to demonstrate. On the right, then on the left.

"It's also common in France and Italy."

"So it is on the cheeks too even if they're going out?" Her gaze was inscrutable this time even as her cheeks flushed a little on being kissed, and no further advance was being made... by her. Except for the wandering of her fingers in his hair, ever so slightly impatient?

"Oh. No. Not really if... they're dating. Y'know?" The nervousness returned. Was he reading too much into the situation? Not enough into it? His eyes stayed on hers, and their dancing slowly stopped. Without thinking, he wet his lips the barest of amounts with the tip of his tongue, lips pursed hard as he regarded her.

And then damned his courage.

Feeling her hand in his hair, he leaned in, his hands moving to frame her face, and he went in.

He should have gone 90, let her go 10.

He went 100. His lips finding hers. Eyelids closed tight as he kissed her, fingertips gently tracing down her cheek.

There was a slight resistance and a fluttering of fingers as she had been readying herself to meet him even halfway, but that defence of agency was behavioural and right after her lips were claimed she willed herself to ease into his commanding initiative, drinking into the sensation of being so overpowered, letting her galloping heart out into the racetrack. Relaxing into the kiss, her lips became softer and more responsive, and they eagerly shared the blackberry taste of their lippy. Ondine kissed back within the same connection as soon as he offered an opening, having forgotten how to otherwise move, and breathe. For all the lack of sync, quite expected, she wanted their first kiss to be special, memorable and long, even at some expense to oxygenation. There should be a spell that allows for a long kiss without breathing, she thought, as her fingernails scratched on his scalp.

She's kissing back!

It felt as though his heart was going to exolode out of his chest as the kiss continued. The mysic still playing quitely through the charm. It seemed so washed out, as the background faded to just the focus on her lips, and his.

Shallow breaths escaping his nostrils as he didn't want to pull away, didn't want it to stop. He certainly didn't think they were going to kiss! Not even before a first actual date, but...

He closed his eyes, and let his hands fall from her cheeks, to wrap his arms around her in a tight embrace as they fell into each other.

Ondine didn't seem to be opposed to his newfound confidence and responded in kind, pulling herself up a bit by her embrace of his neck and showing him that kissing back was what he should have expected. Some part of her may have contemplated entertaining notions of demure cuteness, but she discarded them and just committed to what she wanted. And he wanted more of the kissing, her new favourite activity. The sense of being overwhelmed was spiritually intense, and she could only compare it to the sensation of being carried by strong winds in flight or high waves when surfing. When being locked with Raul in a tight embrace, she was discovering more about the oneness with the universe then on hours upon hours of tedious lessons.

It was awkard. Those first few kisses of youth. Marred by trepidation and the fear of the unknown, before the pendulum swung wide, to abandon and the desire for more.

His fingers laced through her long black hair, ss their lips pecked and the pretense of dancing faded.

And it was all he could do to just not kept swept up by the storm of teenage romance.
